February 9, 2018 By Scott Nordstrom #086114 On a beautiful hot afternoon in January, 2018, just prior to our after recreation Bible Study, our brother in Christ Chad Lee stated that he'd like to share an experience he recently had. Chad stated that he had been experiencing some sort of spiritual attack that forced him to seek the Lord on. Chad believes that this Holy Spirit arrested him on John Chapter 3- specifically about having a servant's heart. Chad was listening, and in his Spirit, played out in his mind the act of washing another brother's feet. In the act of washing this brother's feet, Chad looked up to this brother's face and instead of seeing Steven's face, Chad saw the face of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. At the hearing of this experience another brother Bobby told Chad that he could wash his feet. (you see, Chad was playing out in his mind the act of washing Steven's feet because when Christ directed him to wash Steven's feet, Steven declined.) Chad got up and got some water and washed Bobby's feet. This was a powerful moment for me. At once the Lord showed me that no matter what it is that is asked of us, when we respond in faith, God will meet us in that moment and use us to accomplish His You see, regardless of the physical limitations Chad experienced, (Steven's refusal to allow his feet to be washed), Chad took a step of faith and in his spirit and in obedience to the Lord's direction — went through the act of washing Steven's feet in his mind. In the act of faith, Christ manifested Himself by reflecting His face in Steven's. Amen. "And, without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that he is a re-warder of those who seek Him." (Heb. 11.6) .fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith (Heb. 12.2). "We walk by faith and not by sight." (2 Corin 5.7)
